Tools And Weapons
The Haida used weapons to hunt and tools to make houses, totem poles, etc. The Haida people made tools and weapons of many shapes and sizes, functions and forms. They made sledge hammers, mauls (a small hammer), adzes (a carving ax) , wedges, bows, arrows, spears, daggers, clubs, harpoons, snares and deadfalls (a trap that has a large log that falls onto animals). They put carvings in their tools and weapons to make them more fun to use. To make their tools and weapons they used bones, stones, ivory and shells.
